QUIP

Get it on Google Play
Download on the App Store

Quip is for those who want to use social media more mindfully, stay closer to their friends, and be challenged to live a life worth talking about.

Mockup (1).png

Quip is a voice-first app that helps you stay close to the people who matter.

Each week, you record a short voice update (we call it a Quip) - it could be a life update, a story, a reflection, some music, or a joke... you choose! In return, you unlock a personalized podcast made entirely from your friends’ Quips.

No screen time. No brain rot. Just meaningful updates from your real friends to listen to while commuting to uni, cooking an amazing dish, or training for your next half-marathon.

1. Connect With Friends

Start by inviting your closest friends and following each other. Once you’ve got mutual connections, the magic begins: each week, you’ll have a 4-day recording window to record your Quip (it is an audio, but we like to call it “Quip”).

2. Record Your Quip

Hit record and speak, each Quip is a 3 to 8-minute voice note for you to share anything. Tell a life update: how’s your stand-up comedy course going, how was your recent trip, or how are those exams treating you? You can also tell a story that happened to you (or one you just witnessed) or even share a fun fact you’ve learned. It’s your Quip - your voice, your vibe, your moment in your friends’ week.

3. Tune In and Catch Up

Once the 4-day window closes, your personalised podcast, made up entirely of your friends’ Quips, drops!

But here’s the twist: you only get access if you’ve recorded one yourself.
So whether you're out for a run, cooking dinner, or commuting to uni, you can tune in, laugh, relate, and stay close.

More connected than ever, with less screen time

Hear What Our Community Has to Say

“Actually made me call my brother back.” – by Emi W.

My brother and I have lived in different countries for a while now, and texting never really captured the way we communicate. But hearing his voice every week telling funny stories made me feel closer to him in a way I didn’t realize I missed. I’ve even started calling him more often just to ask about things he mentioned in his Quips. No other social app has done that for me before.

“We turned it into a family tradition.” – by DerekT_NZ

Every week, our family records Quips—even Grandma gets involved. It’s become this funny, heartfelt tradition where we all share little updates in our own voices. Honestly, it’s brought us closer than any group chat ever did. One time, my dad even made up an original sea shanty... It’s one of the few apps that’s actually changed how we connect.

“It got us talking for real.” – by Jae_Podhead

This week, one of my friends shared a six-minute Quip about going to therapy for the first time, and it led to one of the most meaningful conversations we’ve ever had. It made me realize how surface-level most of my social media interactions really are.
I’d love a few more features for reacting (maybe voice replies?), but overall it’s a beautiful idea, beautifully done.

"Perfect companion for my solo travels.” – by SoloSteph

I’ve been backpacking solo through South America, and recording a weekly Quip has become my version of an audio journal. I also get to hear updates from friends back home, which makes a big difference when you’re on your own. Last week I shared a story about getting lost on a hike and somehow ending up in a llama parade 😂. The reactions made me feel a lot less far away.
The only thing I’d ask for is offline playback—please add that soon!
