COMMITMENTS

1. REDUCE SCREEN TIME

The average Gen Z now spends over six hours a day on their phone, and most of that time is lost to social media. We open our phones to reply to a message, and 40 minutes later we're still scrolling with eyes glazed, thumb twitching, not even sure what we're looking at anymore.

Quip was built as a proper alternative to keep you connected without the screen time. And we achieve this in two ways:

  1. Eliminating the need to be constantly present on addictive platforms, offering authentic human connection without all the noise. What is the point in feeling anxious about not being present on social media if you're going to receive the most important updates from your friends every week?

  2. Allowing you to merge connecting online with your routine. Listening to a podcast can be done while cooking, exercising, or commuting...

Without the screen time you have more time to live, which brings us to the next commitment.

2. SEEK New Stories

A full life is a collection of stories that make you feel alive and are worth sharing. But those stories don't just appear, you have to make space for them, and Quip invites you to do exactly that. Each week, you're encouraged to share something from your life. Over time, this small habit encourages you to live a little more boldly.
To step outside the routine.
To say yes more often.
To seek a little discomfort, because that's often where the best stories begin.

And yes, it's amazing to book a trip to Bali, move to a new city, or do something that completely shifts your world. But meaningful stories also live in the everyday: starting a special book, finally taking the course you wanted, or proactively organising a dinner with friends from school.

3. Become Closer to Friends

We're consuming more content than ever, yet somehow losing track of the people we care about. We've all had that moment sitting with a close friend and realising we have no idea what's really going on in their life.

We say we'll catch up soon, but life gets in the way. Weeks pass. Then months.

Suddenly, we don't know how our friend's new job is going, but we do know which influencer just got a puppy. How did that happen?!

Friendships don't stay strong by accident, and Quip makes it easier to stay present, even when life gets intense. It's a simple way to hear how the interview went, how the gig turned out, or how the holiday was. And when you meet in person or have a call, the conversation skips the small talk and goes straight to what matters.
